Kipper, a forty year veteran and one of the state’s first certified family law specialists, our firm practices exclusively family law, focusing on marital and domestic partnership dissolution, post judgment modifications, and domestic violence proceedings, as well as premarital and postmarital agreements.     • Imputation of income to a parent who is not earning at his or her potential

  • Child custody, including physical timeshare, visitation, and decisionmaking. These issues may include
    • Determination of an initial physical custody and timeshare schedule
    • Modification of prior legal and physical custody orders
    • Assistance with child custody evaluations
    • Responding to emergencies affecting the health, safety, or welfare of a minor child
    • Determination of paternity
    • Requests and defense of requests to move a child out of the state
  • Negotiation, implementation and interpretation of premarital agreements, postmarital agreements, and cohabitation agreements

  • Fiduciary Duty requirements and issues, including the pursuit of remedies resulting from breaches of fiduciary owed by one spouse to the other

Principal
In 1980, he became a Certified Family Law Specialist, the first year such a designation became available.  He is a Fellow of the highly selective and prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys, and before whom he has lectured each year since 2006.  He is a former chair of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, Family Law section, and served on the executive committee of the Family Law Section of the LA County Bar Association for three years.  He has published extensively, and his articles have appeared in State Bar of California, Family Law Section’s publication, “Family Law News”, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Family Law Section’s publication, “News and Review”.  He has also served as an expert on continuing education panels for the Beverly Hills Bar Association and Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Robert N. Kipper

Mr. Kipper is the founder and principal of the Law Offices of Robert N. Kipper Professional Corporation since 1989. He has been practicing for over forty years, almost all of which have been focused exclusively on family law.

<p>Andrea (aka Drew) Lehman has been practicing exclusively family law with Robert N. Kipper Professional Corporation since she graduated University of Southern California Law School in 2009.  In both 2014 and 2015, she was selected to Super Lawyers by Los Angeles Magazine as a Southern California Rising Star.  She became a partner of the firm in 2015.</p>

<p>Ms. Lehman has represented clients from the initial filing through entry of Judgment and post judgment enforcement and modification proceedings.  She focuses her practice on complex family law issues relating to property valuation, characterization, and division, child and spousal support determinations and modifications, child custody, domestic violence restraining orders, and premarital and postmarital agreements. </p>

<p>She dedicated herself to the practice of family law since she was a student.  While still in law school, she became a certified law clerk at a small family law firm, externed for a family law judge in Los Angeles Superior Court, and received several honors and high honors grades in courses including family law, community property, evidence, advanced moot court, and legal research, writing, and advocacy.  During her third year of law school, she entered and won First Place in the American Bar Association’s Howard C. Schwab Memorial Essay Contest, a national contest for law students who have written a scholarly essay discussing one or more aspects of family law.  Her winning essay was subsequently published in the American Bar Association’s law journal, Family Law Quarterly.</p> 

<p>Ms. Lehman graduated from USC, Gould School of Law in 2009.  She received a Bachelor’s degree from New York University in 2004, where she majored in History and minored in Italian Studies.</p>

Andrea A. Lehman

Andrea (aka Drew) Lehman has been practicing exclusively family law with Robert N. Kipper Professional Corporation since she graduated University of Southern California Law School in 2009.

                <p>Janani Sukumaran Rana has been a Partner at Robert N. Kipper PC since March, 2014 and has been with the firm since September, 2009. In October, 2013, she successfully passed the Certified Family Law Specialist Examination. She expects to submit her application to become a Certified Family Law Specialist in 2016. Janani practices exclusively family law and has experience handling all matters related to dissolution, child custody and support, spousal support, property valuation and division, post-Judgment issues, support and custody modifications, domestic violence restraining orders, and premarital and post-marital agreements.</p>

<p>Janani received her Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law in 2009 and her Bachelor of Science in Political Theory with a Minor in South Asian Studies from the University of California, San Diego in 2006. During law school, Janani completed a family law clerkship with the Honorable Amy Pellman of the Los Angeles Superior Court, worked as a summer and fall associate at a Los Angeles family law firm, and interned at the Alliance for Children’s Rights, Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, and Western Center for Law & Poverty. For her dedication to public interest work, she received both an Adam Freeman Scott Memorial Grant and a USC Public Interest Law Foundation scholarship. She was also Editor for USC Law School’s Hale Moot Court Honors Program and President of the Middle Eastern and South Asian Law Student Association (“MESALA”).</p>

<p>Janani is a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of California, the Family Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Southern California Family Law American Inn of Court. She is a member of the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California and has previously served on its Board of Directors. She is an active member of the American India Foundation, Young Professionals of Los Angeles and served on its board for several years. In her spare time, she enjoys doing pro bono work and organizing fundraisers, cooking with her husband, and going for runs with her dog.</p>

Janani S. Rana has been an associate with Robert N. Kipper PC since September, 2009. In October, 2013, she successfully passed the Certified Family Law Specialist examination.
